One off trial Classes

One off classes are designed to give a taster of the six week beginner course. You will be able to see what goes on and how it is like any other fitness class but with the fun element on top!

There is no pressure to join a six week course, it is purely for your fun and enjoyment. Many people come in a group as a one off experience or an office get together. Classes are £15 per person of £10 if you are a member of the gym. Tasters are held every 3 weeks. Call or email for the next date and to book your place.

The class involves:

  • A 20 minute warm up
  • A demonstration of dance moves that can be achieved on the 6 week course
  • Learning 4 to 6 spins with individual help and advice given
  • A cool down to stretch out the muscles

Beginner Courses

Level 1- Click here to see a selection of the moves you will learn.

Everyone is a beginner in this class so there is no need to feel intimidated. It is solely about having fun and keeping fit at the same time.

The beginner pole level 1 course is £110 based over 6 weeks and will have 10 women on it. Each week, step by step, you will learn new moves, tricks and spins. We recap and practice moves and individual help is given. Every move is personal to the individual, everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses. I have taught a wide range of ability and have the knowledge to help you improve. Nothing pleases me more than helping someone achieve something they have said they can’t do.

In the 6 weeks, as well as the above you will learn to climb the pole and attempt to go upside down. 80% of beginners achieve this but don’t be disheartened if you can’t. I get everyone up there eventually!

It is a good idea before the course to practice press-ups. Pole fitness requires arm strength. Don’t worry if its too late and the course is tomorrow. I must admit that when I started I knew nothing about this and had no upper body strength at all – Now I teach it!

Throughout the course it will benefit you to practice the press ups demonstrated in the class at home.

After the Beginners course there are Intermediate and Advanced classes available. These are described below. Pole Fitness also hold practice sessions where you can come along and get help and advice  on moves you find difficult.

Routine Course

Once you have completed the beginners course you can do a routine course.  Over 6 weeks we choreograph as a group 2 routines in 6 weeks.  This course is really good fun and gives you the opportunity to piece moves together.  These courses are run at different levels beg/inter and inter/Adv

Progression Courses

Intermediate - Level 2 - Click here to see a selection of intermediate moves

In the first lesson you will recap the beginners moves and start to link moves together, try to come up with your own spins and of course learn loads of new moves and put them all together.

Advanced 1-  Click here to see a selection of advanced moves

Recap the intermediate moves on the first lesson and dance to a piece of your own choice music for at least 3 minutes. As well as learning new tricks spins this course requires strength which you will have built up on the previous two courses.  You may need to do some extra stomach and upper body exercises at home to really get the most out of the course. You will also start to develop your own style by inputting in to a routine and finishing off moves.

Advanced 2

Recap the Advanced 1 moves on the first lesson and dance to a piece of your own choice music for at least 3 1/2 minutes.  You will come up with you own spins and moves and teach them to the group.  Freestyle dance to a piece of music not chosen by you.  Again learn more tricks spins poses and make a routine flow.

Practice Sessions

My practice drop in sessions are designed to help people improve on the moves they have already learnt on a course. I do not teach new moves however I can help with finishing them off and style.  These sessions are £15 and very beneficial especially if you have missed classes on a course or are struggling on moves.  You can really notice the difference in the girls that come to these sessions compared with those that don’t.

What to Wear

You need your skin to grip the pole so its best wear shorts, vest top, trainers and bring shoes or boots with heels and STRICTLY NO MOISTURISER.  Moisturiser will make it impossible for you to grip the pole. Its amazing how many women think that you need it to slide down the pole.  As soon as you come to the class you will see that is not the case. The main aim is for you to grip the pole and hold yourself up there. Our own shorts and vest tops (see Shop page) are perfect for pole fitness. You can buy them in advance by emailing or calling me or on the course itself.

For the one off trial classes you can wear 3/4 lengths if you feel uncomfortable wearing shorts.
